HARI AUM
The life one experiences with a perceived world is due to the residual 'vasanas'. Simply put the existing 'vasanas' run through the mind as if in a projector projecting the external world on the permanent screen aka 'brahman'. Once the film runs through the projector the world ends. The world, aka the film is sometimes comic, tragic, exciting, boring, happy, unhappy,..etc. Now logically how does the film itself happen in the first place? It occurs while one does 'actions'. Now without some kind of actions it isn't possible to exist. So how to resolve this dilemma? BG verse 4 / 20 has some suggestions :-
" tyaktvA karmaphalAsa~Nga.n nityatR^ipto nirAshrayaH
karmaNyabhipravR^itto.api naiva ki.nchitkaroti saH "
(Having abandoned attachment to the fruits-of-action, evercontent,
depending on nothing, he does not do anything, though
engaged in actions).
