HARI AUM

It's for a reason one is alive in this world. This reason has its source in the 'actions'. Now one cannot be totally actionless. To absolve from this vicious circle BG verses 4 / 23 - 31 - " gatasa~Ngasya...kuto.anyaH kurusattama " - have some suggestions.

LIFE'S PURSUITS

HARI AUM

BG verse 4 / 18 - " karmaNyakarma ....kR^itsnakarmakR^it " brings a paradigm shift in one's concept of 'action' & 'inaction'. It's highly imperative to figure it, lest one loses out in his life's pursuits.

Resolving the dilemma

HARI AUM

The life one experiences with a perceived world is due to the residual 'vasanas'. Simply put the existing 'vasanas' run through the mind as if in a projector projecting the external world on the permanent screen aka 'brahman'. Once the film runs through the projector the world ends. The world, aka the film is sometimes comic, tragic, exciting, boring, happy, unhappy,..etc. Now logically how does the film itself happen in the first place? It occurs while one does 'actions'. Now without some kind of actions it isn't possible to exist. So how to resolve this dilemma? BG verse 4 / 20 has some suggestions :-

" tyaktvA karmaphalAsa~Nga.n nityatR^ipto nirAshrayaH
karmaNyabhipravR^itto.api naiva ki.nchitkaroti saH
"

(Having abandoned attachment to the fruits-of-action, evercontent,
depending on nothing, he does not do anything, though
engaged in actions).

FIGURE OUT

HARI AUM

The imponderableness of one's 'actions'- mental, physical and intellectual - are so vast that it is just not within the grasp of one's ability. Doesn't it so call for a larger enquiry into what is 'right action, inaction and wrong action'. BG verse 4 / 17 :-

'karmaNo hyapi boddhavya.n boddhavya.n cha vikarmaNaH
akarmaNashcha boddhavya.n gahanA karmaNo gatiH'

English translation by Swami Gambhirananda (on Sri Sankaracharya's Sanskrit Commentary)
4.17 Hi, for; there is something boddhavyam, to be known; api, even; karmanah, about action enjoined by the scriptures; and there is certainly something to be known vikarmanah, about prohibited action; so, also, there is something to be known akarmanah, about inaction, about sitting quietly. (The words 'there is' are to be supplied in all the three cases.) Because gatih, the true nature, i.e. the essential nature; karmanah, of action-implying karma etc., viz action, prohibited action and inaction; is gahana, inscrutable, hard to understand.'What, again, is the essential nature of action etc. which has to be understood, and about which it was promised, "I shall tell you..." (16)?' This is being stated:

WIN WIN, EITHER WAY

HARI AUM

Afterall all of us are huddled up here to accomplish things that come up in our minds. As life moves, most figure out the inability to realise those DREAMS. Few go beserk, most are confused & bewildered in the beginning and later become experts in compromising but a rare few rare to venture out. The 'gita' has all that it takes for that rarest of rare few to take things in their hands and literally get the job done and exit from this sojourn triumphantly. Either way it is VICTORY - BG 2 / 37 :-
'hato vA prApsyasi svarga.n jitvA vA bhokShyase mahIm
tasmAduttiShTha kaunteya yuddhAya kR^itanishchayaH '.

(Slain, you will obtain heaven; victorious you will enjoy the
earth; therefore, stand up, O son of Kunti, determined to fight).

THE MANUAL

HARI AUM

We are so used to manuals in our daily life - the one for the TV, the Mixie, the Car, the Computer, the i pads and phones and the many number of gadgets and appliances and systems and applications that make the life in this world an exciting and comfortable journey. Inspite and amidst of all these comforts we still find ourselves lacking and press on seeking newer and newer things, pastures and situations that might make us a little more happier. Happiness is what we seek forgetting the simple fact that we are truly happiness incarnated. The simple sanskrit word - satchitanaananda - is all one need to realise to end the misery of tampered, unfufilled, seemingly unending seeking for the true happiness. This can be achieved by using one's equipment consisting of the body, the mind and the intellect (BMI). THE 'BHAGAVAD GITA' IS THE MANUAL THAT HELPS ONE TO USE THIS COMPLEX EQUIPMENT TO ITS FULLEST POTENTIAL. Try it for there is no loss whatsoever in it.
